pals & peratallada

Pals Castle was documented for the first time in the 9th century, but there are indications that the origin of the town is Roman. In the old town there is to highlight the Romanesque Tower, the wall and the Church of Sant Pere. Interesting are antique references to an important port in medieval times. Peratallada was first mentioned in the 10th century and belongs to the municipality of Forallac, where also medieval village of Vulpellac can be found. The old town of Peratallada, erected on top of a clump of stone, is one of the most important and best preserved of all Catalonian medieval ensembles. We must highlight its ancient wall, one of the strongest in Catalonia in medieval times. Distance: 30 km.
